The article, ‘Debugging DNS’ from Ole Michaelis is a great primer on using tools like whois and dig to get detailed information about DNS resolution through all the links in the resolution chain. These command line utilities have been around for quite a while, but are still critical tools to know about and use for troubleshooting. Check it out for yourself!
