Network Service Checks
- Basic connectivity checks via ping and TCP port checks
- HTTP checks to any URL with HEAD, GET and POST operations.
- POST checks support optional form variables
- Basic Authentication supported for GET and POST checks
- HTTP content checks to alert on the presence or absence of specific strings or regular expressions
- Alerts triggered when responses time out or return any response code of 400 or above, so you’ll know as soon as your server starts generating errors
- Email monitoring of SMTP, POP and IMAP servers, checking basic connectivity, individual service transactions and round-trip email delivery time
- Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web Access checks
- DNS checks on basic connectivity and full lookup transaction with verification of correct returned IP address
- FTP and SSH session checks, with the ability to execute an arbitrary command.
- Database session checks for MySQL, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
- Support for development of application/protocol specific checks for unique situations
- SSL encrypted versions of all network protocols that support encryption
- Compound Services, which allow for an alternate notification to be raised when multiple services are down simultaneously
- Response time alerts trigger alerts when responses exceed a specified threshold for more than a specified length of time
Server Resource Monitoring
- Panopta Monitoring Agent available for Linux (RHEL/Centos, Fedora, Ubuntu and Debian), Microsoft Windows (Server 2003, Server 2008) and FreeBSD.
- Supports monitoring of all CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth resources present on your server
- Supports file presence monitoring, which allows you to trigger alerts on completion or failure of scheduled operations
- Database module supports monitoring query rates, cache hit rates and replication status for MySQL and soon Microsoft SQL Server
- Plugin architecture allows for easy development of custom plugins to monitor your specific applications
- SNMP polling supports monitoring of individual values and ratios of values from any standard SNMP agent
- Includes support for most standard Management Information Bases (MIBs), with support for loading additional MIBs if your devices aren’t covered
- Support for SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and soon SNMPv3
- Both Agent and SNMP resources support alerting when values go above or below set thresholds for a specified period of time
Notifications
- We support multiple notification channels for notification, including:
- Email (plain text, HTML and short text)
- SMS to more than 800 mobile networks around the world
- Push notification to Apple iPhone/iPod/iPad and soon Android.
- Voice calls to your home, office or mobile phone
- Twitter direct messages and public timeline posts, with the ability to customize message content
- Google Chat and IRC
- HTTP POST to arbitrary URLs, to provide integration into ticketing systems and other third-party applications
- Notification timelines support complex notification configuration, with automatic escalation support
- Rotating contacts allow for one-time configuration of changing on-call schedules or other time-based changes to your notification schedule
- Easily notify entire groups at once, through any of the supported notification channels
- Maintenance schedule support allows notifications to be disabled or altered during planned maintenance work
- Avoid extraneous alerts when you know certain systems are going to be down
- Schedule maintenance periods as one-time or recurring events.
- Provide information about planned maintenance both in the control panel and in public reports
Monitoring Control Panel
- Web-based control panel to provide access to all configuration and reporting.
- Supports full configuration of Agent and Appliance services, with no need to perform local configuration on your server

- Outage portal allows for easy coordination of response to an outage by your entire team
